Information Systems Laboratories

ISL was founded in April 1982. Since its inception, ISL has developed innovative concepts to solve otherwise intractable problems. ISL has developed and adapted analysis tools, signal processing algorithms, unique antenna array designs, and computer simulations to show concept feasibility and to support the resulting system development. ISL scientists and engineers have fielded experiments to resolve key phenomenology issues and to provide design data. Designs and hardware prototypes for surveillance, communications, and signals intercept systems, usually incorporating adaptive signal processing, have resulted. In 1996 ISL embarked on a major expansion plan intended to exploit the outstanding reputation and forefront "Information Age" technology it had developed during its first 14 years of operation. ISL is continuing to build on the plan that was initiated in 1996. That plan included the conversion of the corporation from a sole proprietorship with over 95% of the stock owned by the founder, to an employee-owned company with the stock distributed among all of the employees. The success of this approach has been demonstrated repeatedly by rapidly growing technology companies. It affords both a major employment incentive in recruiting and strong motivation for excellent job performance.
