IST Metz

The goals for 2013 were exceeded and, for the first time since the economic crisis of 2009, IST METZ managed to generate turnover of more than 60 million Euro. This success is one-of-a-kind and it is the employees alone we have to thank for it, for their commitment and superb performance, says Dirk Jägers, Managing Director of IST METZ. I always knew that we were capable of achieving something extraordinary. Yet this year exceeded even our own expectations, he continued. As a sign of the company's appreciation for the hard work carried out by employees, all full-time staff members at IST METZ GmbH received an iPad mini just before Christmas. These early Christmas gifts were handed out by Christian Metz, Head of IT & Processes at IST METZ and grandson of company founder Gerhard Metz, on 19 December during a special ceremony. On 20 December, there was an additional gift for 22 of the approximately 450 employees at the company's headquarters in Nürtingen, presented during the Christmas party held in Inselhalle at Nürtingen-Zizishausen. These employees were thanked for their long-standing service to the company, which ranged from 10 to 30 years. Each employee was presented with a gift basket from Managing Director Dirk Jägers and Helmut Böhm. The success of a company like ours depends on people like you and the experience you have to offer, explained Dirk Jägers. Without such loyal employees, he continued, the high standard of quality offered by the companies within the Group would not be possible. You know what really matters, you make an important contribution to work and you play a major role in our success, praised Jägers. The following employees were recognised for their ten years of service to the company: Rico Glatzer, Sven Heck, Olga Knysch, Steffen Kühefuss, Sabrina Di Martile, Helena Molitor, Steffan Pforr, Christina Preiss, Antonio Rizzo, Harald Schneider, Ilonka Schulz and Joachim Seefeldt. Jelena Dugonjic, Stefan Feil and Carmen Speidel were honoured for 20 years of service. Heinz Schmohl, Sonja Schober, Gerhard Weber and Silvia Zuckrigl have been with the company for 25 years, while Rudi Ensle has been with the company even longer, 30 years to be exact. Lars Schwencke was recognised for his ten years of service with subsidiary eta plus electronic GmbH. At gerhard metz metallbau GmbH, another subsidiary, Ralf Fritzsche was honoured for 20 years of service. There was also a special mention for Helmut Böhm and Rolf Singer. Helmut Böhm stepped down from the IST METZ Executive Board and took over the management of company subsidiary gerhard metz metallbau GmbH at the start of the year. Rolf Singer has now taken his well-earned retirement from the role of Commercial Manager after 22 years in the post. He remains an important asset to IST METZ, however, staying on a Managing Director of S1 Optics GmbH.
