International University of Kyrgyzstan

The University was founded by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, and the National Academy of Science of the Kyrgyz Republic with the active support from the State University of San Francisco (USA). By the Decree of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic dated December 30, 1998, and the Decree of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic No.74 dated February 8, 1999, the International University of Kyrgyzstan was granted the status of an autonomous self-governing University, which is necessary for entry into the global educational environment. At a later stage the University was transformed into "International University of Kyrgyzstan" (IUK) Academic Consortium by the Decree of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic No. 53 dated 12 of February 2003. Currently, the University has an organizational structure based on the Euro-American structure of Universities, which assumes the structural units' independence and aimed at most dynamic activities in education and science. The current model of IUK Academic Consortium is a holding ( ) structure in which Institutions for Educational, Scientific, and Production profile strengthen each other's potential and work together to continuously improve quality. As an International University the IUK Academic Consortium conducts an intense international activity, introducing education and research innovative methods, develops the trends of globalization of education, expanding cooperation with Universities and Organizations of different countries. IUK Academic Consortium is a member of: The World Association of Universities and Colleges (WAUC), European Universities Association (EUA), Federation of Universities of the Islamic World (FUIW), International Universities Association and Faculties of International Relations of Universities of Moscow State Institute of International Relations Partners Global Alliance for Transnational Education (GATE), European Association for International Education (EAIE), Eurasian Silk Road Universities Consortium (ESRUC), International Association of Universities of UNESCO, Union of Universities of Turkic-speaking states, Midwest Universities Consortium for International Activities (MUCIA) IUK Academic Consortium awards are: International award "Gold Star of Quality" in the field of education, established by BID (Business Initiative Directions), Geneva (Switzerland). International award "European Quality" for the achievement of high quality of educational services in accordance with European standards, Varna city (Bulgaria).
