Isle of Wight Radio

We are a group of firefighters from the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service who arrange and hope to complete cycling challenges from various town/city squares to other town/city square abroad. In 2005 a team cycled 1,004 miles (each cyclist completing 1,004 miles) from from St Thomas' Square, Newport, Isle of Wight to The Old Town Square, Prague, Czech Republic during the 14 day challenge. The team raised £10,000 for Macmillan Cancer, Isle of Wight Kidney Patients Association and the National Fire Services Benevolent Fund. Our latest challenge is to complete a cycling challenge from St Thomas' Square, Newport, Isle of Wight to The Vatican Square, Vatican, Italy, over approxiamtely 14-15 days.
