Jack Stone Signs
The Jack Stone Company, founded in 1932 by John A Stone Sr., was primarily involved in commercial electrical engineering and construction largely for the US Navy. In 1934, Jack Stone Lighting & Electrical was formed as a division to maintain and service commercial lighting in the Washington DC area. Shortly after WWII, John Sr. created a subsidiary called the Jack Stone Sign Company and began manufacturing on-premise signs and displays. John Sr. ran both companies until 1970, at which time he handed the company over to his son John Stone Jr. John Jr. expanded the company by focusing on the growth of the Sign division, picking up large municipal contracts such as DC Metro, regional airports and commercial contracts such as Giant Food Stores and Roy Rogers Restaurants.   Today the day-to-day operations of both divisions, now called Jack Stone Companies, are run by John Jr.'s five sons: Chris, Todd, Trevor, Spencer and JP. The third generation of Stones are not only building on Jack Stone Companies' legacy of quality, but are also focused on the cutting edge of technology and trends in the sign and lighting industries. Jack Stone Companies see the future of the business heading towards the commercial use of LEDs. The benefits of increased LED use are longer product life and reductions in both maintenance and power consumption.   Headquartered in a 46,000 sq. ft. facility in Landover, MD, Jack Stone Lighting & Electrical serves the Mid-Atlantic region and its staff is known as experts in the usage of LEDs.   Historically the lighting and electrical division has focused on general site lighting maintenance. Jack Stone Lighting & Electrical has provided night lighting surveys for outages for over 30 years.
