It was formed in August 2009 following the acquisition of Travel Weekly Group from Reed Business Information by travel industry entrepreneur and founder of car rental giant Holiday Autos, Clive Jacobs. It has also developed and launched a range of complementary events, exhibitions and products, including the luxury travel club Aspire; Connections, the invitation-only community and event specialist for luxury travel executives; the Global Travel & Tourism Resilience Council; and the Association of Touring and Adventure Suppliers. From its roots in the UK, the company now has a standalone international division which accounts for a third of its business and works in partnership with leading travel and hospitality brands, associations and governments worldwide. In May 2021 the first overseas office was opened in Dubai, UAE, and the Connecting Travel brand was launched to provide services to the Middle East region.
