Jazz Foundation of America
For 28 years, the Jazz Foundation of America (JFA) has been keeping jazz, blues, R&B and soul alive by helping the musicians who have played with everyone from Duke Ellington and Billie Holiday to Jimi Hendrix and The Rolling Stones. Their social work services provide housing assistance, pro bono medical care, and emergency financial support to musicians in crisis. Their Jazz in the Schools program provides dignified employment for musicians who are too old or too ill to tour and reaches thousands of public schoolchildren every year. JFA now assists in 7,000 cases annually across the country.
