We maintain a robust D'Link Layer 3, Gigabit network. Also, a unified wireless network. This allows our classrooms to connect with the outside world in rich, meaningful ways previously thought impossible. Students and staff have access to VMware (Virtual Desktops) in all of our technology labs and classrooms across the district using HVE Technology. Our students are fully protected with a CIPA certified firewall using K12USA Technologies. We offer public Wifi for Joaquin ISD events including sporting events and academic events. We have implemented ShoreTel VOIP intranet communication telephone system. Streaming audio and video resources enrich our classrooms and expand our learning possibilities. Students and staff have access to different operating systems at Joaquin ISD. We offer not only Microsoft PCs, notebooks and servers, but also Apple MacBooks, iMac computers and iPads, as well as Chromebooks and Chrome for Education. We are currently implementing one-to-one computing for our High School students. Each enrolled High School student has been issued a Chromebook in order to access the internet, digital course materials and digital textbooks. One-to-one computing offers the benefits of equal access, standardization, easy upgrades, simple networking and the ability to monitor student progress and online behavior. We strive to facilitate life-long learning and seamless technology integration into the education of our students. We believe our students will be better prepared to meet the demands of the future by not only understanding but also utilizing appropriate technology.
