Born in an entrepreneur's basement, the idea of JiUS began as a free, local job board (JobsInME.com) that provided a greatly needed service to local employers and job seekers. In 1999, with a new president, a board of directors and a hard-working handful of employees and contractors, the JiUS start-up was launched. Easy-to-use and useful web tools drew eager employers and job seekers to the site and site traffic began to increase considerably. Within a few short years, its online services grew into five New England states with plans to expand further. Today, as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Digital First Media, the JiUS network of state-specific websites is the most widely used network of employment websites in the region, in terms of both visits to the site and jobs posted.
