About the Johnson County Library Through its 13 Neighborhood Libraries countywide, the mission of the Johnson County Library is to provide access to ideas, information, experiences and materials that support and enrich people's lives. The Library is supported by a mil levy, by the Friends of the Johnson County Library book sales, by the philanthropic efforts of the Johnson County Library Foundation, and by the dedicated efforts of a corps of more than 1,000 volunteers.
