John F. Shoul Store

John F. Shoul Store

The business was started by Sir John Ferdinand Shoul in the 1930s under the name 'Kallil Shoul Branch Store'. The name was later shortened to just 'Shoul's Branch Store'. The original building, a typical West Indian colonial style building, was badly damaged during Hurricane Luis in 1995 and had to be demolished. Construction of the modern three storey building which now stands in its place was completed approximately one year later. And when the store reopened in 1996 the name was then changed to 'John F. Shoul's'. After the death of Sir John Ferdinand Shoul on May 19th 2000 the business was taken over by his son John F. Shoul Jr. and his daughter Maria Elena Shoul Greaux, who both worked in the family businesses for the better part of their lives. John F Shoul Jr. passed away on April 4th 2011 and today the store is owned and operated by Maria Elena Shoul Greaux and her son, Pierre Greaux. 80 years later John F Shoul Store continues to carry textile fabrics, clothing for the entire family, and home furnishings & accessories.
