After being born and raised in France I moved to the states for Elementary School. In France, everyone writes in cursive. So this gave me the upper hand to the kids who were limited to print. As time went on, It didnt take long to find out that a parents signature can get you almost anything you want in school. So, I studied and practiced them. It didnt take long where I was selling excuse absent notes, not always for money, sometimes it was for lunch fries, or milk, or if I got lucky; a cookie. One day I wanted to see how far I could go. So, I forge George W Bushs signature. I put together a White House letter-head and the note clearly stated that I was involved in government activities and therefore was unable to complete my homework. A student ratted me out. And it turned out my parents and my the principal of the school all needed to have a sit down meeting to take about the seriousness of this. The way your name is written its serious business. This is when I fell in love with branding. I (John-Luke Laube) started John Luke Design in High School and have served over 150 Clients since. Whether designing for print or digital our designed are business focused first. As an entrepreneur I not only care to make things visually stunning but make sure business goals are met through hitting the bottom line.
