If you suffer from certain diseases and conditions, seeing a neurologist can help you. A neurologist is a physician who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the central nervous system. The central nervous system consists of the brain, spinal cord, and all the nerves in your body. In addition to four years of premedical education and four years of medical school, neurologists complete at least three years of specialized training in an accredited neurology residency program.
