We are always seeking ways to lower risks to non-target wildlife, especially in residential applications. Scimetrics is a family owned business located in the Front Range of northern Colorado. The company originally developed rodenticide products containing zinc phosphide in the early 1980's. Those registrations were sold in 1985. Scimetrics ownership focused its efforts afterwards on wildlife research in other areas. During 1990, vertebrate pest control product development became a priority again, and mole and rodent control baits were researched. Scimetrics was officially reorganized again in 1999 as a Colorado corporation. Our staff has a combined 100 years in vertebrate pest control product development-that's research and development, not just sales. We have published over 100 research papers in scientific journals and chapters in books on wildlife. Hundreds of scientific papers have been presented at conferences around the world. Over 100 years combined experience in pest control product development. Our experience with second generation rodenticides prompted us to organize a plan to reintroduce baits into the marketplace that are a lower risk to pets and wildlife. As a result, in 1995 we actively began developing formulations containing warfarin for mole, rats, mice, and other rodents. A recent risk assessment published by the United States Environment Protection Agency, presented warfarin as the lowest risk to mammals and birds of the anticoagulants.
