Karnaphuli is with MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company Geneva since May 2012 - the second largest Container Liner in the world and in year 1 registered 35% growth in volume. Aspire to make MSC the number 1 carrier in Bangladesh within 2015. Karnaphuli also has JV with Pacific International Lines (Pte) Limited [PIL] of Singapore, representing shipping agency for Pacific International Lines (Pte) Ltd. and Advance Container Lines (Pte) Ltd of Singapore, engaged in MLO and feeder services respectively. PIL has become one of the largest ship owners in Asia. Today, it is ranked 19th amongst the top containership operators in the world and owns and operates a fleet of 103 vessels. Sea Consortium Pte Limited, one of the world's largest and geographically most diverse feeder operator having an annual throughput of 2.5 million TEUS with a fleet of over 60 vessels operating out of six hubs and covering 143 ports, has a JV Company in Bangladesh with Karnaphuli rendering agency services to Sea Consortium feeders calling Bangladesh. Karnaphuli is proud of its shipping pedigree in having JVs in Bangladesh with two of the top 20 global shipping lines and one of the largest feeder operators worldwide. Through these representations and JVs, Karnaphuli Group operations handled a volume of 639,791 TEUS in 2011 which is approximately 32% of the total throughput of Bangladesh. This reflects the eminent position of Karnaphuli in the Bangladesh shipping and logistics scene.
