PBS El Paso

PBS programming includes award-winning investigative journalism on Frontline, eye-opening documentaries and biographies through American Mastersand Independent Lens, Nature, NOVA, and various arts and cultural programs. We also provide 12 hours of enlightening kid shows on weekdays such as Nature Cat, Sesame Street, Curious George and many more. In addition, KCOS is committed to offering programs to community residents that will create a foundation of success for our area's young people. Those programs include the KCOS family festivals such as Be My Neighbor Day and the PBS Kids' Fiesta. These free events average between 2,500 and 3,000 family members who attend each year. Additionally, KCOS helps local learners advance their writing and self-expression through our annual PBS Kids Writers Contest, which is open to kindergarten through fifth grade students. The goal of these programs is to address critical needs that seek to prepare children for success in school and life, including literacy, workforce readiness through Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM) introduction, social skills, communication and more. ____
