Karagozian & Case
K&C has a rich history of technical excellence dating back to its founding in 1945 as John Case and Associates, a Structural Engineering Consulting firm, in Pasadena, CA. For over five decades, K&C has specialized in work for government, NGO, and commercial organizations to develop and apply the latest technologies to address their risks to severe threat environments and to generate resilient, robust, and cost-effective designs to protect their structural and mechanical systems. In the 1970s and 1980s, after incorporation by Mr. John Karagozian and Mr. Case to form what we now know it as Karagozian & Case, Inc. (K&C), K&C assisted the U.S. Department of Defense in evaluating and designing structures hardened against a nuclear attack. In the 1990s, as the Cold War abated, K&C became involved with characterizing conventional weapons effects, especially related to characterizing the effects from precision weapons, and began applying its expertise in hardening structures to provide protection to civilian buildings and facilities (e.g., airports) and their occupants against terrorist bombings. This led to K&C becoming a recognized leader in developing practical designs and novel protection products to reduce the risks to buildings, occupants, and their operations from terrorist attacks and accidental explosions. In the 2000s, K&C supported Government and private organizations by addressing complex multi-hazard threats in urban environments and conflict regions. K&C continues this legacy today by addressing a variety of emerging and evolving threats and hazards, as demonstrated by our recent projects and news updates.
