King Edward VI College

King Edward VI College in Stourbridge has drawn praise from Ofsted this week as the Government's education watchdog published its Education and Skills annual report. The report describes how King Edward's provides the 'effective support' that helps students choose the right subjects at A Level and how continuing support for students throughout their studies ensures 'almost all students gain places at their preferred university'. The 150 page report penned by Sir Michael Wilshaw, Her Majesty's Chief Inspector for schools, provides a 'state of the nation' overview of all school and college provision in the UK, with King Edward's being one of a small number of schools and colleges singled out as examples of best practice. Speaking about the report, Remley Mann, the college's Principal said: "We are so pleased to have received this endorsement for our approach to careers and the work we undertake to prepare young people for university. The report highlights how here at King Edward's we offer our students so much more than just some of the best A Level provision available in the Midlands." Ranked sixth in UK sixth form college league tables, King Edward VI College draws students from across the West Midlands and Worcestershire with around 90% of students going on to study at university.
