Keihan Electric Railway Co., Ltd. is a Japan-based company mainly engaged in the railway business in Kyoto and Osaka Prefectures. The Company operates in five business divisions. The Transportation division provides railway, bus and taxi transportation services, as well as station services. The Real Estate division is involved in the sale and leasing of real estate. The Distribution division mainly operates departments, stores and shopping malls. This segment is also involved in the wholesale of construction materials. The Leisure and Services division is engaged in the hotel, restaurants, amusement park, automobile, advertising, travel, golf course and expressway businesses, among others. The Others division is involved in the provision of equipment work, gardening making, measurement and designing, specific purpose financial and credit card services, among others. The Company merged with one of its subsidiaries on October 1, 2008.
