KEMAPCO®, a limited liability company, was originally established in 1999 under the name of 'Kemira Arab Potash Company ltd. (KEMAPCO)' as a 50:50 Joint venture between Arab Potash Company Ltd. (APC) in Jordan, and Kemira Agro Oy in Finland with a 110 Million USD Investment. In 2007 the Company became fully owned by APC and was renamed the 'Arab Fertilizers & Chemicals Industries Ltd.' but maintained the name KEMAPCO® as a registered trademark. Arab Fertilizers & Chemicals Industries LTD. (KEMAPCO®), has a plant production capacity of 150,000 MT/Year of Potassium Nitrate (NOP) fertilizer and up to 60,000 Mt/year in batches of Dicalcium Phosphate (DCP) animal feed additive, in addition to Nitric Acid that is currently used for its own consumption. KEMAPCO® production facilities are located in Aqaba - Jordan with close proximity to the raw Materials and the exporting port. The plant is established in an Area of 126,000 m2 and employs around 215 employees.
