Kenai Aviation has been providing South-Central Alaska safe, reliable air charter services for over 54 years. Founded in 1961 by Robert Bielefeld, Kenai Aviation was one of the pioneers providing air service supporting oil and gas exploration and production in Cook Inlet and is the longest continuously operating air taxi on the Kenai Peninsula. Our focus on providing the highest level of safety and service and our excellent safety record has made us the air service of choice for major oil and gas operators on the Kenai Peninsula and the west side of Cook Inlet. Kenai Aviation's many decades of experience and high level of commitment to the energy industry puts us in an ideal position to cater almost exclusively to our oil and gas clients and understand their unique operational requirements. Our management team includes the owner and founder, Robert Bielefeld who came to Alaska in 1959 to work in the oil field with Coastal Drilling and saw a need for an air service in Kenai to support the development and expansion of the energy industry in Cook Inlet. "Bob" has safely transported thousands of passengers across the Inlet and built a reputation for dependability which continues to drive our company. President and Chief Pilot, James Bielefeld, has flown over 18,000 hours during his 31 year career, flying for several part 135 and part 121 operators in Alaska and for Kenai Aviation the last 15 years. Director of Operations, Evan Veal, has worked for several Part 135 and Part 121 airlines serving in various management positions over the last 20 years, acquiring over 15,000 hours - mostly in twin-turbine aircraft. Director of Maintenance, Russell Winger, has been managing our maintenance department since 2006, and his aviation maintenance experience dates back to his service as a Crew Chief in the US Air Force in the 1970s.
