Key Training Center school

Located in Citrus County, Florida, the Key Training Center provides a comprehensive scope of services to improve the quality of life for people with mental retardation and other developmental disabilities. All Key Center programs and services are designed to foster individual self-worth and respect the personal dignity of each consumer through the human growth and development process. All Key Center programs and services are provided with kindness, love, dignity and respect for each consumer, a Key Center hallmark for four decades. Based on individual needs, Key Center consumers may receive daily living and social skills, job training, life-sustaining care and residential services. All programs and services are provided without regard to race, religion, ethnic origin or the ability to pay. About 30 Key Center consumers, for example, are served without charge. Because the limits of human potential cannot be judged, Key Center staff focus on each person's God-given potential and not on individual limitations. Deeply rooted within the Key Center's tradition-rich culture is a devout belief in God's love, provision and blessings for these people who did not create or cannot change their lifelong condition. Religious worship is encouraged and supported. Also deeply rooted within the Key Center's history is a fundamental staff commitment to place the consumer's best interest first; believing God will bless our efforts if we do the right thing for the people we are privileged to serve. The Key Training Center is a community retardation facility owned and operated by the Citrus County Association for Retarded Citizens, Inc., a private nonprofit Florida corporation governed by a 13-member volunteer board of directors who serve without compensation or consideration. The association also owns and operated five other affiliate nonprofit entities engaged in the delivery of various housing and residential services in Citrus County. The association also operates the Key Center Foundation for fundraising and charitable planned giving.
