Launched in 2014 KIMS is Somalia’s first and only dedicated and privately-owned microfinance institution. KIMS operates on commercial basis providing enterprise financing and linked savings services t...o low income but economically active Somalis and Somali small businesses. Headquartered in Hargeisa, Somaliland, KIMS has operations via 11 branches in nine locations throughout Somaliland, Puntland and Southern and Central Somalia. KIMS havs provided financial services to over 9,000 clients since launch in 2014 with a total of more than $8 million provided in financing which have resulted in the creation of an estimated 6,000+ new jobs. KIMS is the market leader in the provision of microfinance services in Somalia.
