VEX DRAMAS S.A. (Wood Treatment Industry) was founded in 1997 by wood cooperatives and forest workers of the Prefecture of Drama with the purpose to better exploring the forest wealth of the Prefecture of Drama. The enterprise is active in impregnation with creosote of wood poles for the needs mainly of Power Public Corporation(PPC) S.A. and Hellenic Telecommunication Organization (OTE) and for exporting to neighbouring countries and Cyprus. The Production capacity of the company is more than 80.000m3 per year. The production plant is located at Agios Athanasios region, Drama(16th km Drama-Kavala). he forest complex in Drama is the greatest and most productive in Greece. The abundance of Pinus Silvestris trees and the fact that the forest is growing under beneficial land and climate conditions make Drama to be considered as the "Forest Metropolis" of Greece. The texture of wood poles the best qualitively raw material for excellent impregnated wood poles. However since the last 5 years the company's production is too big according to the poles available hear in Greece, our company's main quantities of white poles are imported regularly from Finland, Russia and Ukraine. VEX's location close to the famous forest of Elatia and the forest mountain range of Rodopi, has an important comparative advantage in terms of costs as well as time. The company's location is also pretty close to the port of Kavala-N.Peramos. VEX DRAMAS SA as a leading company in its sector and after new investments has decided to proceed even further and change the name of the company.
