The Public Library of Mount Vernon
The Public Library of Mount Vernon and Knox County offers free help with Technology to its patrons. Three options are available. First, six hours of computer classes are available at the library through the Connect Ohio Program. The six hours are divided into two three-hour classes. The first class covers basics of the computer, while the second class introduces the Internet and e-mail. Jessica Horlacher is the instructor. Participants who complete the entire six hours of classwork are entered into a prize drawing for a free laptop computer. These classes are offered weekly through December 2012. Do you need help with your e-reader or tablet device? You can make an appointment with Dory Pruett. She can help you learn how to borrow and download e-books and digital audiobooks from the library. Finally, Beth Hoeffgen, the library's technology educator, can help with many other technology issues. Did you take the Connect Ohio classes, but still feel like you need additional practice and help? Do you have a specific problem not covered in the classes? Are you unable to commit to six hours of class time? You can make an appointment with Beth for these purposes. To sign up for classes or make an appointment with Dory or Beth, please call (740) 392-2665.
