Our background goes back to working with disaster management organizations for almost 20 years. Organizations like Pacific Disaster Center deal with humanitarian aspects of emergencies, in particular preparedness, response, and recovery in order to lessen the impact of disasters. Kontur is helping PDC provide insights into the collection of hazard- and disaster-related data and raise situational awareness during and in preparation of critical events. With gaining our expertise in disaster management and geospatial analytics, we began to create our own solutions and offer them to businesses. We have become a reputable partner in providing geoinformation services for insurance, logistics, and other companies. Eager to share our expertise with the community, we provide some of our solutions for non-profit organizations such as the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team. One of such cases is the creation of Disaster Ninja, a complete disaster management solution that allows visualizing mapping gaps, connecting with locals for ground truth verification, exploring OSM communities, and obtaining information about recent natural disasters.
