Keyport Central School provides students with the knowledge and skills needed to be 21 st Century learners. We accomplish this through programs and services that foster individual, academic and social growth for students in grades pre-kindergarten through eight. The staff is committed to providing the best education possible in a caring, structured and safe learning environment. It is our job to meet each student at their individual academic levels and move them towards their maximum capabilities. We strive to recognize every child's unique talent and contribution to our learning environment. Academic growth and proficiency are the results of dedication, support and intervention. Keyport Central School has high expectations for our entire school community. Our school utilizes technology in ways that provide our students with exciting learning opportunities inside and outside of the classroom. All classrooms are equipped with Smartboards and other technological tools in order to improve teaching and learning. A variety of student software is included in our curricula. Parents can view grades and assignments through our parent portal. Teachers maintain accurate and informative websites. These initiatives, coupled with professional development, are part of ongoing efforts to provide the best education possible for our children. Student's involvement in extra-curricular activities is encouraged. Participation in chorus, band, athletics, student council, art, environmental club, drama, video club, etc., all afford students the opportunities to develop into well rounded individuals. Community members contribute to the fabric of Keyport Central School. The PTO supports our school community by funding assemblies, trips and many community events and gatherings. Senior citizens visit weekly to read to the first grade students, and many parents continue to volunteer to work in a variety of ways with the children and teachers. The teaching staff is highly motivated and dedicated. The district is proud of its teachers and impressed by their daily efforts to provide excellent educational services to the children of Keyport Central School.
