Established in 1973, K.P.THOMAS & SONS INC. is a renown, family firm based in Georgetown, Guyana. With unfailing support from his wife, Mrs Waveney Thomas, Mr. Kenneth Percival Thomas (commonly known as K.P.) founded the company. He was by profession a British Trained Building and Civil Engineer. In the early years, he designed and built several notable buildings in Guyana. They included facilities at the University of Guyana, business office for the Guyana National Insurance Scheme and the wharf jetty at GuyOil on the East Bank of Demerara. Others would later follow, including multi-story office buildings that accommodated the staff of a number of quasi-government organisations. In 2000, Mr. K.P Thomas passed away. The company evolved with a new board of Directors, which included all of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas' children; making it truly identifiable as a family-owned and run company. Mr. Ken Thomas, who is a British Trained Civil Engineer and Building Contractor, studied at the University of Westminster. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Building and is the Director for Building & Civil Engineering. Mr. Kenrick Thomas has a Business & Law Degree from the University of Brunel and a MBA from Oxford Brookes University. He is the Business and Finance Director. Mr. Kenley Thomas has a Masters Degree in Forestry and Land Use from the University of Oxford and a Bachelor's Degree in Forest Products' Technology. He is also a Director. Mrs. Koreen Miles (nee Thomas) has a BSc in Computer Science (University College London) and a Masters Degree in Advanced Computing (Kings College London, University of London). She is the final Director. Mrs Waveney Thomas retired from her Directorship upon the passing of Mr. K.P.Thomas.
