KSBS-FM broadcast at a frequency of 92.1 in American Samoa, with an effective radiated power of 3,000 Watts. KSBS-FM broadcasts out of Pago Pago, operating 24 hours a day. KSBS-FM began commercial broadcast service on April 14, 1988 as the first FM Radio Station in the Samoas. KSBS-FM also provided the very first "Long Boat" Fautasi Race broadcast over the FM air waves in 1988. With original broadcast studios located at Auto Village, its permanent studios were eventually relocated to Faga'alu Village in 1992. Conveniently located across from Faga'alu Park with close proximity to the main Pago Pago business area, KSBS-FM is heard from around the world and is the main source of island music and people "home town" connection for every American Samoan who leaves home and reside overseas. During the 2009 Samoa Tsunami disaster, KSBS-FM was the only operating broadcast station on air to support post-disaster recovery and coordination efforts.
