The activities include libraries, theatre, debates, art exhibitions, film, dance and music. Located right in Stockholm's political and commercial centre, the house offers a public space for all people in Stockholm. The vision of the architect Peter Celsing was to create a space that could accommodate all art forms. "I am building for a new human being that has to come" was both a pleading and a pledge of the renowned architect who won the architectural competition for a new cultural centre in 1966.
