Lacrosse Groningen Gladiators

Lacrosse in short: its a quick, tactical and technical team sport. The sport was originally played by the Indians in North America who called it The creators Game . For them, it is about more than just the sport. Your team is a family and the players are a community. The game is a gift of the gods of nature. Lacrosse is one of the oldest sports in the world. It is usually interpreted as a combination of ice hockey and basketball, or some sort of hockey through the air, but lacrosse is the foundation on which these sports are based. Lacrosse is a sport that is practiced differently by men and women. The men play with a deeper pocket in their stick, causing the ball to come out less easy making it harder to take over possession. Therefore, the variant they play becomes more physical and they wear more protection. The women play with a less deep pocket and have a more technical variant in which speed and ball handling are important. The students sport association Lacrosse Groningen Gladiators was founded in 2003. There are four teams that participate in the national competition and (inter)national tournaments. In addition to intensive sports the Gladiators are also there to offer the much needed relaxation. And gezelligheid, the club absolutely has to offer! Tere are two drinks (borrels) per month and various activities. The annual Schierkamp on Schiermonnikoog is one of them, a weekend with non stop socializing and lacrosse!
