LA Galaxy South Bay welcomes two Time Olympic Gold Medalist and Former Professional Soccer Player to act as Advisor for the Elite Girls Program of the LA Galaxy South Bay. Angela Hucles is teaming up with Girls' Technical Committee leaders Jeff Schofield and Sal Diaz to help structure the Club's 2015-16 Elite Girls Program. Angela brings a wealth of experience to this exciting project, having played for the US Women's National Team for nine years and played on two World Cups and two Olympic teams, highlighted by scoring four goals at the 2008 Olympic Games to lead the US to a second consecutive gold medal. Since retiring Angela has worked with the US Women's National Team coaching staff and founded Empowerment Through Sport, an organization focused on discovering sports leadership skills and athlete transitions that translate to life success. Angela currently serves on several boards including the Board of Trustees for the Women's Sports Foundation and is the President of the Women's Sports Foundation, founded by Billie Jean King, and now is lending her knowledge and experience of the game to our Club, and is looking forward to meeting the players and parents on the Club's girls division.
