Lake Eye Associates is proud to be the first eye health provider in Lake County to offer the new LenSx® refractive laser cataract surgery. LenSx® utilizes the revolutionary femtosecond laser - which has been used for decades to perform LASIK surgery - to provide the most technologically-advanced cataract surgery system ever created. Considered the most important advancement in cataract surgery in more than two decades, LenSx®, developed by the world-renowned eye-care company, Alcon, allows cataracts to be removed with superior precision and pinpoint alignment without the use of blades. LenSx® enables Lake Eye surgeons, who have been specially trained in the advanced procedure, to employ high-resolution 3D images of the eye and a computer-guided laser to remove cataracts via cool, minimally-invasive ultrasound vibrations. In the same surgery, patients can also receive lens replacement with a multifocal intraocular lens such as AcrySof® IQ ReSTOR®, which can restore perfect vision in 9 out of 10 patients.
