When we opened our doors in 1971, our goal was to provide excellent general contracting services to commercial and industrial clients on the West Michigan Lakeshore. In 1978, Jim Stroop joined the company and Scott Nykerk several years later in 1982. Through the combination of their leadership and talents, Lakewood was able to grow and expand services to include Construction Management, Project Management, Design-Build, and Real Estate Development. Today, Lakewood's portfolio of work includes an extensive list of industrial, healthcare, education, commercial, worship, and municipal clients throughout the reaches of Western Michigan. Both Jim and Scott are convinced Lakewood's success goes back to their understanding that designing and building a new facility--even an addition--is often one of the most important and costly decisions a client may ever make.
