Levenseat
A Private Limited Company. The Trust is an Approved body for the Scottish Landfill Community Fund and is a registered charity. They are regulated by Revenue Scotland/SEPA. The Levenseat Trust was established in 1997 in order to take advantage of the Landfill Tax Credit Scheme. The Trust was founded on the initiative of Levenseat Ltd with support from West Lothian Council and Scottish Natural Heritage. Levenseat Ltd is a waste management business with both landfill and recycling operations based at Levenseat on the border between West Lothian and South Lanarkshire. The Trust is a registered charity and an Environmental Body registered with SEPA. It is not therefore controlled by either Levenseat, West Lothian or South Lanarkshire Council's. Apart from initial donations from West Lothian Council and Scottish Natural Heritage, all of the Trust's income to date (other income from individual projects all of which is absorbed in the projects) has comprised Landfill Tax Credits plus donations from Levenseat Ltd. The Trust undertakes and supports projects, in conformance with the regulations laid down by REVENUE SCOTLAND/SEPA, in general aimed at improving the environment for the benefit of local people.
