Lincolnshire Field Products
Lincolnshire Field Products (LFP) farm land surrounding Spalding as far as Boston, Wisbech and Sleaford. The Company benefits from the land quality in this area which is predominantly Grade 1 silt. This quality of soil offers high value cropping opportunities with flexibility of working and continuity of quality. Consequently, LFP are one of the largest independent growers of brassicas, potatoes and sugar beet in the UK. In 1997 Robin Hancox, Aubrey Day and Martin Tate successfully completed a buy-out of an existing family owned farming business and all three continue to be heavily involved in the day to day running of the company and have overseen considerable expansion during their tenure. The land currently farmed, totalling 6,500 ha, is a mixture of owned, rental land and contract farming arrangements enabling maximum utilisation of Lincolnshire&s;s best quality silts. The Wykeham head office site is also the location of the production and storage area consisting of a 12,000 square metre purpose-built facility. The company offers many value added services including flow wrapping, labelling, sorting, catch weighing and product trimming which are carried out on a 24/7 basis. The site also includes a state of the art distribution centre. Our Whaplode site, purchased in 2011, is the home of our farming operation. This 4 ha facility is home to our farm office, workshop which maintains all of our farm equipment, potato grading and temperature controlled storage facilities.
