Linnhe Lochside Holidays
Linnhe Lochside Holidays is entirely committed to providing the highest level of holiday accommodation and facilities. Each year our Highland Holiday Park is visited and inspected by many organisations. This list below shows some of our current awards: We are very proud of our 4 star Holiday Park "Excellent" grading by the Scottish Tourist Board, our national tourist authority. This grading is only given to holiday parks after a rigorous annual inspection of all aspects of the park and its management. To regularly achieve this recognition of high quality constant upgrading of our facilities and attention to detail in every respect is required. Our self-catering accommodation is also rigorously inspected every year and we are delighted to be able to maintain this 4 star "Excellent" grading for our Locheil and Nevis Alpine Chalets. Our Corrie chalets have received a 3 star "Very Good" grading, slightly less than above because our Corrie chalets have a shower instead of a bath. In other respects the facilities and quality are the same. Our touring and camping Park was awarded the AA 5 star Pennant grading - their top accolade. The Automobile Association visit Linnhe every year in peak season to ensure that our standards are maintained even when we are full. Linnhe Lochside Holidays organises recycling of bottles, cardboard, paper and tin centrally from our shop, in addition office paper and waste is recycled, our brochure is available to download electronically in an effort to limit paper production. We hope to set up a compost bin close to the other recycling bins so we can add our customers waste to our own compost. We constantly assess our fuel consumption and water use in order to limit the impact. Naturally - we hold the David Bellamy Gold Award. David Bellamy presents these awards each year to parks which can demonstrate policies showing active concern for the environment. David Bellamy looks at virtually every aspect of park management - from the protection of plant and animal habitats to the efficient use of energy and recycling. Helping visitors to understand conservation is also considered an important qualifying feature. Three levels of excellence can be achieved : Gold, Silver and Bronze. We have changed most of our cleaning products to eco-friendly alternatives to reduce our impact on the planet. We also offer glass and cardboard recycling and we hope to offer more recycling as the local infrastructure improves. We also offer a good range of plants and wild areas. You can help by filling in our wildlife sightings board, sending Mr Bellamy postcards and using the local recycling facilities on the park and in the village. Practical Caravan magazine readers voted us the Best in Region l and we regularly appear amongst the top 100 Family Parks in the UK. We hope you agree with them! Best Park In Scotland 1999. This award is only given to one park each year. We were "runners-up" on two occasions and won this accolade in 1999. The park is nominated for consideration by Visit Scotland grading inspectors and final decisions are taken only after a further rigorous inspection by the sponsors - Calor Gas. We are very proud of this award and, although it is getting a little old it is very unusual for a park to win the award twice.
