In early September of 1983, David Lu started Lite Source, Inc. with the mission to offer the retail trade a diverse and broad line of fashion-forward contemporary lighting designs at affordable price points. Equipped with vast knowledge, experience and contacts in both China and Taiwan, David set out to import from only the most reliable suppliers both original and distinctive lighting designs that represented the most up-to-date technologies. Fast-forward 30-years to 2013 and David Lu not only accomplished his initial mission for Lite Source; he also has built the company into a powerhouse leading supplier of contemporary, youth oriented and transitional/traditional lamps & lighting, as well as coordinating accessories and accent furniture. Today the company boasts separate divisions for each of the distinct product categories including Lite Source Classic, featuring transitional and traditional styles, Lite Source Kids, an innovative youth-oriented line of lamps & accents, LSI Furniture, and Elite, the company's most upscale collection using the finest materials. And of course the original Lite Source brand, which offers America's largest assortment of contemporary lamps and lighting, while maintaining those very popular price points. The company manufactures its designs in China and ships from its recently acquired 183,000 square foot corporate headquarters and distribution center in Chino, California. David Lu credits much of the company's success to the talented team of professionals that he has assembled through the years.
