National Museums Liverpool
National Museums Liverpool is supported by an active Friends group which contributes to all eight of our venues. We offer an ideal way to become involved in the life of these great cultural attractions. Members can join in a fantastic range of cultural and social activities. Your contribution will also help preserve Merseyside as a national centre for the arts, heritage and sciences, as well as caring for its unique maritime history. The Friends also have their own home, Mermaid House at the Albert Dock. This acts as an information centre for the public as well as a drop-in point for Friends. Mermaid House also holds an excellent reference and lending library that Friends can use. Membership privileges include: lectures, guided tours and organised visits to places of interest regular mailings, including newsletters free entrance to any charging exhibition generous discounts in National Museums Liverpool's cafés and shops invitations to private viewings of exhibitions access to varied and rewarding volunteer work Volunteers can work in three main areas: visitor services; boat and land transport and the Wincham Preservation Society (caring for the Brocklebank and Wincham ships) Voluntary work includes a wide variety of activities.
