LKL provides services to the general public, builders, commercial and residential contractors, and government agencies. The company was founded in Orem, Utah in 1978 by drywall contractors, Lanny, Kim, and Lex Norris to provide better service to the drywall industry in Utah County, and the surrounding area. The first distribution center in Orem was completed in 1979. Over the next three decades, the company opened three more distribution facilities throughout Northern Utah, and added a fifth in St George to service the southern part of the state. The recent Great Recession of 2007-2010 caused an especially strong downward cycle for the construction industry. Yet LKL remains three stores strong and optimistic about the future.
