Established in 1952 and headquartered in Livermore, California, The Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) is a scientific research laboratory founded by the University of California. The laboratory is primarily funded by the United States Department of Energy but it is managed and operated by Lawrence Livermore National Security.
