Lochard Energy is an Australian midstream energy infrastructure business that owns and operates the Iona Gas Plant and the associated facilities located near Port Campbell in the state of Victoria. The company was formed in December 2015 following the purchase of the Iona Gas Plant operations from Energy Australia by a QIC led consortium. Consisting of a natural gas processing and storage facility at Iona in Victoria, Lochard Energy now exists as a standalone energy business, complete with an experienced Board and Management Team. The company holds a strategic position in the Eastern Australian Gas market, servicing the Victorian and South Australian markets and the Mortlake Power Station. The plant itself has been in operation for 17 years and boasts high reservoir quality, consistent profitability and an excellent Health Safety & Environment (HSE) record. It has a proven track record of high plant reliability and a strong culture of customer service. The company's key stakeholders are employees, customers, suppliers and investors - each reflected in the circles within the company logo, their interconnectedness indicating the interdependence of all four. The Company has 59 employees with 43 at the Iona Gas Plant and the remainder in the head office in Southbank, Melbourne. Lochard Energy does not undertake exploration drilling activities. Therefore is not subject to the existing Victorian Government moratorium under the Petroleum Act 1998 (Petroleum Act) and the Mineral Resources (Sustainable Development) Act 1990 (MRSDA).
