Loló
Loló is a family-owned restaurant that offers non-traditional and uniquely inspired Mexican food, utilizing local ingredients. Through the use of color, music and great food, coupled with the vision of one of Mexico's most creative designers, Loló invites people to experience Mexican culture and cuisine, reimagined. Fresh from opening two other restaurants in Guadalajara, Mexico- iLatina and Anita Li- Jorge Martínez and Lorena Zertuche founded Loló as an intimate neighbordhood restaurant in San Francisco's Mission District. Jorge and Lorena, along with Gerrardo Cendejas- chef, architect, and jack of all trades- brought together over 10 years of restaurant and design experience. They envisioned a space in the Mission's already incredibly vibrant neighborhood, where they could combine the rich traditions of Mexican heritage, with modern aesthetics and the essence of Bay Area food culture through the use of fresh, local Californian ingredients. Lorena (Loló herself) took inspiration from a childhood of growing up on rancherías, the colorful, vivd streets and markets of Mexico. Loló brings the essence of those same streets and markets to the streets of the Mission, through an environment that welcomes guests to share in reimagined Mexican food and culture while creating new experiences in the Mission.
