Lotus Engineering is an internationally recognised automotive design consultant based in Norfolk, UK with further facilities in Ann Arbor, USA and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It provides comprehensive and versatile consultancy services to many of the world's OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers, offering a full engineering service from initial concept and project design through development to full production prototype build. Recent projects such as turn-key design and development of the GM L850 world engine and involvement in the development of the Aston Martin Vanquish are the latest demonstrations of Lotus' flair for innovative product design. Projects currently under way at Lotus include camless engine design and development, turn-key design of a V8 diesel engine, turn-key design and development of a new ‘B Class' car, and design of a dramatic family of niche vehicles for MY2005 and beyond. Lotus Cars, another division of Group Lotus plc, builds sportscars, and markets and sells Lotus sportscars, Elise and Esprit, which are sold in markets throughout the world.
