Lucas County Board of Developmental Disabilities

We are advocates for everyone to live, learn, work, play, worship, and participate as equal citizens. It is our mission to assure that people with developmental disabilities have the same opportunities and life experiences as all other citizens. We will inspire possibilities and create activities throughout the community to further this ideal. The Lucas County Board of Developmental Disabilities embraces the philosophy of self-determination, an approach for planning individualized services and supports. We will support eligible individuals and their families in developing a vision for their future based on individual strengths, interests and choices. We will also assist with identifying, creating and funding the supports needed to pursue that vision.
