The LumberYard Hockey & Sports Center is the Twin Cities' premier destination for sports recreation, competition and individual development. Our mission is to provide the best programs, staff, and equipment to meet the training and recreational needs of our athletes. The small-area game concept is key to The LumberYard's appeal. All our training areas are designed to challenge athletes to utilize tight spaces to make quick decisions that result in big plays - Quick Hands, Quick Feet, Quick Decisions. This intense, fast, small-area play is important in developing the endurance, speed, and mental focus crucial for today's young athletes. The fun, friendly, playful atmosphere we've created at The LumberYard is another key element of our appeal. Our tagline, Where Players Play, exemplifies this concept. The LumberYard is a comfortable, welcoming place where players want to linger after their last game to watch the next one, grab a drink or snack in the lounge, browse the latest sports gear at Dave's Sporting Goods, or work on their skills in the stickhandling area. When it comes to hockey, The LumberYard employs a 'soup to nuts' approach - providing a full slate of seamlessly integrated offerings that take players from the pre-learner level all the way into the golden years. Examples include Learn to Skate programs, in-house leagues, AAA teams, youth hockey association training programs, summer hockey camps, and adult hockey leagues. Most importantly, the Lumberyard strives for the gold standard in athletic skill development, particularly in our key areas of focus: hockey, baseball, lacrosse and soccer. We have assembled and continue to develop a stellar lineup of training partners that represent the best in their field and are focused on understanding and adapting to the individual training/development needs of each client and each sport.
