founded as an orphanage in 1883, lutheran child and family servics is a faith-based organization that provides a wide range of social services to support children in crisis and vulnerable families. today, lutheran child and family services is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) member agency of the united way of central indiana and provides residential treatment to boys and girls ages 6-21 at lutherwood residential treatment center and lutherwood academy, in partnership with indianapolis public schools. we also offer community based services including: trinity house group home, the center for growth and change, and the sharing place food pantry and diaper bank.
