Maconaquah High School

The corporation serves the six southern townships of Miami County and surrounding communities, and we have four school buildings that serve our 2200+ students from preschool through 12th grade. Pipe Creek Elementary School serves about 450 students PreK-1. Pipe Creek houses a multitude of preschool programs for varying developmental stages as well as household income levels, and it is an On My Way PreK school. It also has a STEM lab and designated STEM teacher. Maconaquah Elementary School serves about 730 students grades 2-5. Mac El is outfitted with a STEM lab and designated STEM teacher, it became a STEM-certified school by the Indiana Department of Education in 2018, and it has been a No Excuses University School since 2014. Maconaquah Middle School serves about 500 students grades 6-8. Mac Middle was one of the first schools in the state to become STEM-certified by the IDOE, it has partnered with Purdue University extensively to integrate STEM into all of its instruction, and it boasts an impressive Farm to School program known as "Maconaquah Cattle Company." Maconaquah High School serves about 640 students grades 9-12. MHS has a graduation rate of more than 95 percent, and is quite successful in academic, athletic, and art-related extracurricular activities. MHS was also rated an A school by the IDOE in 2017. In 2011, our school became a 1:1 corporation, meaning every student became equipped with a computing device. This led to numerous corporation-wide initiatives that kept Maconaquah a cut above other school districts across the state, region, and nation. In 2014, Maconaquah was granted first privilege to utilize eLearning days in place of snow days. The corporation also has a great relationship with the Miami County Sheriff&s;s Department, which partners with Maconaquah for our School Resource Officer program, and with the Indiana State Police, which is posted a few miles north of our buildings.
