Mapping for Change
Mapping for Change is an innovative social enterprise that exists to support the development of sustainable communities. We specialise in providing participatory mapping services to communities, Third Sector organisations, local authorities and developers using a suite of tools and processes for communication. Our experience and understanding across the field of community engagement and GIS technology brings depth and meaning to our work. We work with passion, integrity and in collaboration to develop and deliver innovative projects and solutions. Our mission is to empower people and communities to make a difference. Mapping for Change is a partnership between London 21 sustainability network and University College London (UCL). Our aim is to develop local mapping to give community and public organisations access to maps and techniques that will help them change and improve their environments. We have extensive experience of using online and participatory mapping. In 2002 London 21 produced the world's first interactive online 'Green Map'. Over 1700 organisations in London have entered themselves on the Map and we have advised many other similar projects. This is not all. Paper maps are also powerful means of communication.
