Marian Cramer Projects is focused on showing work by emerging international artists. As part of a new wave of gallerists like in New York and London who have made art galleries out of their homes, like 17th-century salonistes, they aim to spur discussion and create a deeper connection to the artwork. The house has not been changed to make it look like a gallery. Instead, the works of the presented artist are shown together with the own collection in various parts of the house. That way there is a more personal encounter with the artwork. Also being able to come by at out of office hours, have lunch or drinks adds to the personal gallerist-collector relationship. A home gallery has the same voyeuristic feeling as the tours of the collectors' homes during art fairs where people love to look around other people's homes. And in this case the art by the artist on show can be acquired.
